COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

The purpose of this role is to lead the development, delivery and implementation of the Company integrated communications strategy, aiming to enhance community and stakeholder engagement, company brand, dissemination of information and support development of company culture. The role will be Perth based, reporting to General Manager Organisational Development.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement
• Support the management team with engagement strategies and implementation of cultural development and awareness programs.
• Maintenance of a community and stakeholder database.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records on community relations.
• Develop and implement stakeholder and community relations initiatives, including conducting individual and group briefing sessions.
• Promote understanding and awareness of cross-cultural issues and cultural heritage obligations.
• Develop strategies to support engagement with land owner and Indigenous community.
• Act as a liaison for local and Indigenous community.


Communication Strategy
• Develop and implement internal communications strategies and plans which may include various internal communication channels, electronic display boards, portal, videos, emails, presentations, newsletters and more.
• Develop and implement company brand awareness strategies, plans and campaigns to enhance the company brand and reputation in industry, market place and local communities.
• Develop a creative and integrated approach to all external and internal communications.
• Lead the development and implementation of internal and external communications platforms including video content and intranet-based communication channels.
• Work with key stakeholders to communicate their messages and support the roll-out of key communications activities.
• Generate content through storytelling and other communications methods to drive engagement, awareness and promotion of company initiatives.
• Maintain and monitor effectiveness and relevance of communication channels and mediums for each specific audience.
• Manage and measure the effectiveness of communication through surveys, pulse checks and analyse and interpret results from these surveys.
• Preparation of external publications, newsletters, external presentations and media information relating to Community and Stakeholder Consultation.
• Coordination of communications on emerging issues, including provision of support to senior managers.
• Identifying target audiences, analysing needs and issues and developing tailored message content.
• Develop appropriate communication tools (e.g. presentation material, work notifications, letters).


Media, Branding and Public Relation
• Edit and proof content for a variety of online and external media including social media channels, blogs and stakeholder networks to support communication and branding strategies.
• Write and distribute media releases as required.
• Develop media management tracking system such as Google alerts and conduct media monitoring to ensure active scanning and reporting of news content in print, online and broadcast (radio and TV) that relates directly or indirectly to the company and its operations.
• Produce relevant report from media monitoring to assist in the identification of any adverse and negative association that able to harm the Company and implement mitigation strategies appropriately.
• Lead the design, development and inventory management of corporate clothing and gifts.
• Monitor media reporting and articles and disseminate relevant information as appropriate to internal stakeholders.
• Ensuring compliance with project branding and style guide.
• Coordination of project specific meetings, events, site tours, inspections.


Event Management
• Develop and maintain corporate events calendar.
• Lead the planning and preparation of community and corporate events including celebration of achievement of project milestones.


Experience and Qualifications:
• Tertiary Qualification in Communications, Marketing or similar
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar role
• Experience developing and delivering communication strategies and plan.
• Extensive experience in community and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated ability in the creation and positing of social media content.
• Management of internal and external communication platforms.
• Ability to work with diverse cultural background.
