On behalf of our client, we are looking for a senior Business Partner Procurement - Ports, Rail & Core Services. This position is responsible for driving changes in company procurement across several departments, ensuring that the optimisation of performance across company assets are met through efficient and effective deployment of functional support.

The position will be reporting to GM Procurement, Australia and after liaising with a number of company divisional GM’s, analysing best practices, influencing and gaining buy-in will produce ‘best for business’ outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
• Analysis of current procurement applications and methods and identifying and developing new or alternative regional or global strategies, cost initiatives, improvement and efficiencies
• Influencing, challenging, coaching and gaining buy-in from senior divisional leaders on their supply chain effectiveness
• Define, build, and improve Procurement strategy and delivery
• Working in collaboration with Global and Regional Category teams across the business
• Executing, managing and delivering procurement projects and investigations
• Translate strategies and connect with the business to deliver superior procurement outcomes


Key Criteria
• Extensive procurement experience (15+ years) with experience particularly in rail
• Strong commercial savvy and an insatiable curiosity for improvement
• Strong leadership skills, transparent communication skills and confidence to liaise with senior divisional leaders
• Ability to constructively challenge individuals, successful manage change and gain buy-in for new ideas
• Able to work in ambiguous and disruptive circumstances where not all the information is available but decisions must be made
• Quickly build rapport, build relationships and adjust your approach depending on parties you are dealing with
• Commit to this challenging role with drive, passion and energy
