Our client Lürssen is a family owned company with over 140 years of shipbuilding expertise, and a global leader in design and construction of ships for commercial and defence purposes. In May 2017, in pursuit of the SEA 1180 contract and regional export opportunities, Lürssen founded a subsidiary company, Lürssen Australia. The company will support Australia’s national sovereign shipbuilding strategy and operates from the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson, WA.

Lurssen Australia is the designer and prime contractor for the acquisition of Off-Shore Patrol Vessels (SEA1180) for the Australian Navy. There is now an opportunity for a Document Management System Coordinator to join the team. This role is responsible for the Document Management System initiative for SEA1180, and directly reports to the Configuration Management department within the project. The provision of support and services shall also be provided to other business areas such as Quality Assurance & Control, Engineering and Integrated Logistics Solutions. The role will be responsible for leading and implementing the Document Management system initiatives across the organisation to improve service experience and business outcome.

Area Specific (accountabilities specific to this role only):
• Lead the development and implementation of the Siemens TeamCenter data management system (DMS).
• Assist in the definition of processes for data entry, modification, cleaning and updates to the system, to ensure data is of high quality, secure and complete.
• Participate and support program and project meetings by communicating meeting notes, action items, risk and issues to ensure project team members, and stake holders have a common understanding.
• Ensure the quality of all documents and data analysis to guarantee project integrity.
• Prepare and present technical ideas, data and reports in a variety of mediums that graphically communicate project results and status.
• Monitor project activities on an ongoing basis to ensure target dates/milestones are met.
• Report and communicate analysed data, approach, methodology and findings to key stakeholders and process owners.
• Support the development and management of the project’s business case as needed.
• Conduct ad-hoc industry and/or project research as needed.
• Derive requirements for the DMS internally from department heads, as well as externally from Contractors (Shipbuilders) and the Client.
• Coordinate schedules, activities and video conference logistics.
• Help develop budget and project plans as directed by the Configuration Manager or Project Director.
• Exhibit leadership characteristics including strong communication skills, full understanding of internal policies, time management and client focus.
• Review the system continuously to detect inefficiencies and propose solutions in conjunction with the developers.
• Work effectively with operational members of the project internationally.
• Communicate and solve technical issues with central IT based in Germany.

You will possess:
• Tertiary Qualification, Training or Accreditation in at least one project management methodology i.e. Prince2, APMP (essential, however dependent on work experience)
• Tertiary Qualification, Training or Accreditation in at least one organisation improvement methodology i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC (desirable)
• Demonstrated experience within a business improvement or project management role developing and managing strategies to achieve best practice.
• Proven experience in leading and coaching diverse team to design and implement improvements, business transformation and change projects.
• Highly developed facilitation, negotiation and collaboration skills and proven ability to work in partnership with senior leaders, departmental heads and their staff to implement organisational improvements.
• Exceptionally highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare high quality documents, including action plans and reports.
• Proven working knowledge of electronic document management systems such as Siemens TeamCentre (desirable)
• Experience within a manufacturing environment with technical or industrial products (desirable)
• International project experience (desirable)
• Strong core IT skills with advanced MS Office, and intermediate excel (essential)
• Highly developed data collection, analytical, reasoning and project solving skills with the ability to develop practical solutions for complex challenges and ability to read and interpret legislation and contractual documentation. (essential)
