The Western Program Alliance (WPA) is currently delivering a program of major works on both the Aviation Road level crossing in Laverton and Ferguson Street crossing in Williamstown. They are soon to be commencing on the upcoming Cherry and Werribee Street crossings in Werribee with a number of other projects currently in planning stages.

About the Alliance procurement model:
Project alliancing involves the collaboration of owner and non-owner participants to deliver the capital phase of a project, with all participants sharing the responsibility for project risks and for achieving project objectives and/or key result areas. The alliance model creates a commercial framework where all participants win, or all lose together depending on their collective performance against an agreed set of objectives and key results.
In comparison with traditional forms of procurement, alliances rely far more on developing trust and strong relationships to drive high performance outcomes than on the legal and contractual relationship between the participants. Collaboration and a focus on building relationships at all levels of the Alliance (internally and externally) is critical for personal and project success.
Purpose of the Role:
WPA’s Industry Capability and Inclusion (ICI) strategy supports skills and industry capability development at a WPA and industry level. Their strategy creates a sustainable, capable and inclusive talent pipeline to deliver on the Programs projects. The ICI Coordinator works collaboratively across the Alliance, with client and with industry stakeholders to facilitate this strategy. The role will generate awareness across Program participants and provide implementation and monitoring support on all ICI activities.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
• Support and coordinate successful implementation of existing ICI programs and initiatives. This includes both WPA and LXRA programs.
• Champion ICI programs and identify continuous improvement opportunities that ensure inclusion and support requirements of marginalised and vulnerable cohorts are met.
• Ensure an outcomes-focussed delivery of programs by monitoring and reporting on performance and identifying risks and mitigation strategies to ensure the achievement of desired outcomes.
• Develop and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery support
• Develop and maintain ICI Delivery calendar that supports WPA Strategy and KPI’s.
• Provide meaningful, relevant and timely reporting to management team. This includes scheduled monthly and quarterly reporting requirements
• Ensure ICI strategy, mandates and initiatives are well communicated and known at a program level. Including support in on boarding new employees and contractors.
• Work collaboratively with the WPA Procurement and Delivery teams in establishing and implementing opportunity for Social and aboriginal enterprise.
Required Competencies:
• Proven ability in administering diversity/inclusion capability and programs in a project environment
• Proven ability to operate and influence peers, management and contractors
• Proven ability in engaging and working with third party providers in implementing and supporting outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders and contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, use sound judgement and set priorities to achieve objectives and tight timeframes, particularly whilst working under pressure.

Remuneration commensurate with these high profile projects and your level of expertise are offered, together with the opportunities that exist in a growing organisation. The role is offered on a ‘4 days per working week’ basis which could also be spread ‘4 over 5 (days)’.
