Batchfire Resources Pty Ltd is an Australian private company that owns and operates the Callide thermal coal mine near Biloela in Central Queensland. Callide Mine has significant recoverable coal reserves, long-term supply contracts and a growth trajectory to ensure its long-term future.


Location: Callide Mine, Biloela, Central Queensland

Reporting to the Superintendent Electrical Maintenance & EEM your responsibilities will include:
• Providing technical support and expertise to the operation regarding all areas of Electrical Engineering, including a broad range of plant - CHP’s, draglines, fixed infrastructure(HV Substations, switchyards), PLC control systems, auxiliary mobile plant.
• Project managing shutdowns on site equipment, and leading a variety of site initiatives and improvements
• Creating, managing and updating technical documents and ensuring electrical reviews are carried out
• Completing electrical inspections and facilitating required modifications on large mining equipment
• Programming and maintenance of PLC, SCADA, HMI systems.
• Driving continuous improvement in all areas of the operations
• Working with maintenance leaders to ensure maintenance systems and reliability engineering services process are implemented and being adhered to
• Lead and contribute to investigations and involvement in failure analysis activities of plant and equipment


We would be pleased to receive your application should you possess:
• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
• Strong background in Electrical Engineering ideally in the coal mining sector
• Prior experience working with Draglines, Excavators and Coal Handling Plants –desired but not essential
• Previous experience supervising projects and/or maintenance teams – desired but not essential
• A sound understanding of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act, regulations and the completion of risk assessments
• High level of skill in using MS Suite – Excel, Word, Outlook etc
• A proactive approach to health, safety and the environment
• Sound judgement and a strong decision-making and problem-solving capability
• Effective time management and positive interpersonal and communication skills


This role is open to candidate with at least 1 year site based experience.
